Space Art 2 - Stars and Nebulae
Space art is what I'm most known for. My Ph.D. in astrophysics means that, when necessary, I have the knowledge to make my work scientifically accurate. But that doesn't mean boring... :-) These astronomical images are all related to stars and nebulae.
Contact Binary. A pair of closely orbiting stars whose atmospheres have merged, so that they each share a common envelope.
Dying World. The Earth in the deep future, when the Sun has swollen into a red giant.
HD209458. An illustration of an extrasolar planet so close to its parent star that its atmosphere is being boiled away.
Low-mass X-ray binary seen from a nearby planet.
