Summary

Artist / Illustrator

First and foremost I am a freelance illustrator with a strong scientific background. I spent seven years working in professional astronomy - up to PhD and beyond - and space art is my main niche. However, I also create images relating to earth sciences, dinosaurs and science fiction.

I work mostly in the publication industry (e.g. books and magazines). I also do a lot of work for university press offices who commission me to create artwork for their press releases.

Computer Animation
I also create astronomical animations created with 3DS Max, Blender 3D and Adobe After Effects. I have a YouTube channel to showcase them.

Writer / Author
I have written six popular astronomy books to date, most of which I also illustrated, and I was a contributing author on Lonely Planet's Guide to the Universe in 2019. I have also written numerous articles for various magazines and newspapers and continue to do so.
